As the proud principal of Effingham High School, I want to take a moment to share the exciting and enriching opportunities available to all students at EHS.

At EHS, we are deeply committed to fostering a learning environment that challenges students intellectually and prepares them for life beyond graduation. Our rigorous academic curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning. No matter what class a student is in, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Dual Credit courses, advanced art, honors courses, welding, etc., our teachers set high expectation and provide the support students need to excel.

In conjunction with our strong academic foundation, we offer a variety of career and technical education (CTE) programs that give students hands-on/work-based experiences in high-demand fields such as healthcare, information technology, engineering, business, culinary arts, agriculture and agribusiness, and more. These programs equip students with practical skill and certifications that prepare them for both college and the workforce. These experiences can also include work based cooperative programs and internships. We have established business partners in the community and surrounding areas that help us offer these opportunities for our students and provided the business with potential long-term employees.

We also believe in nurturing the whole student. That’s why we provide many opportunities for student engagement which include athletics, performing arts, student government, clubs, service learning, and leadership development programs. We encourage students to involve themselves in these organization as we understand the need to feel part of a community.
